    Here\u2019s a look at some of the best moments of 2017:<\/p>\n

    42.195 km in 2 hours?<\/h3>\n

    2017 was the year Nike tried to break the magical 2-hour time barrier for a full marathon on the Monza circuit in Italy.\u00a0 Eliud Kipchoge, a 32-year-old Kenyan, came really close but ended up running the 42.195 kilometers in a time of 2:00:25.     1st Giro d’Italia ever for Dutchman<\/h3>\n

    The 2017 Giro d\u2019Italia, using our MYLAPS ProChip, was the 100th<\/sup> edition of this special Grand Tour race. \u00a0On the very last day, after a grueling three-week race Tom Dumoulin managed to the win and became the first Dutch male winner of the Giro.<\/p>\n

    There were high hopes for the 2017 Berlin marathon, many believed to witness a new marathon world record. Unfortunately, the high expectations could not be met, but Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge put down a stellar performance and won the Berlin marathon with a time of 2:03:32. That\u2019s the seventh fastest \u201clegal\u201d marathon ever! Kipchoge\u2019s time and that of all the other runners was timed by Mika Timing using our ChampionChip.\u00a0Gladys Cherono from Kenya won the women\u2019s race in 2:20:23.<\/p>\n

    121st Boston Marathon<\/h3>\n

    As the oldest annual marathon in the world, the Boston marathon remains an inspiration for those who run. The Boston marathon used MYLAPS BibTag\u2019s and was timed by Mika Timing. On the men\u2019s side, the 24-year-old Geoffrey Kirui from Kenya won the race in a time of 2:09:37. In the women\u2019s division, Edna Kiplagat from Kenya won the marathon in 2:21:52.<\/p>\n

Galen Rupp a three-time U.S. Olympian who ran a new personal record of 2:09:20 won the marathon on the men\u2019s side. Meanwhile, Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia won the women\u2019s race in 2:18:31.<\/p>\n\"Chicago\n
